Responsibilities
- Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by physicians.
- Position and instruct patients prior to examination, ensuring proper alignment and comfort.
- Adjust x-ray equipment and determine proper exposure factors (voltage, current, exposure time) for each radiograph to achieve diagnostic quality.
- Verify image quality and safety, applying ALARA principles and maintaining standard imaging protocols.
- Document procedures and maintain accurate patient records; prepare exam rooms and imaging equipment for subsequent procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to operate radiography equipment and perform diagnostic radiographs according to physician orders.
- Strong patient communication and positioning skills; focus on patient safety and comfort.
- Capability to perform imaging in a fast-paced healthcare facility radiology department and follow department protocols.
- Eligibility to work in the United States for a travel assignment; ability to meet credentialing and state requirements as applicable.
- Willingness to work 12-hour daytime shifts and complete the 13-week assignment as scheduled.
