Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to general medical and admissions-floor patients on a 10-bed Med/Surg unit
- Monitor patient status, assess vitals, administer medications and IV therapies, and manage routine nursing care
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges; collaborate with physicians, case management, and ancillary staff
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record; maintain accurate and timely charting
- Maintain safety, infection control, and patient advocacy; respond to changes in patient condition and high patient turnover
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and post-discharge needs
Requirements
- Active RN license in Georgia; Nursys license verification may be required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years Med/Surg RN experience
- Nursing degree required (ADN or BSN)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, admission-focused 10-bed Med/Surg unit
