Travel Registered Nurse Oncology Job
Registered Nurse – Oncology (Radiation Oncology) is a travel assignment in Saratoga Springs, NY. Start date is 07/06/2026 for a weeks-long assignment on a hospital Radiation Oncology unit. Shifts are 3x12 Nights with a Monday–Friday schedule (no weekends, holidays, or on-call). The role includes a 40-hour orientation prior to start. Weekly pay ranges from $2,150 to $2,170 per week, with no guaranteed hours. The unit handles adults and geriatrics with multiple treatment rooms and a focus on cancer care within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adults and geriatric patients undergoing radiation therapy, including SpacerOAR procedures and related treatments
- Administer medications, injections, hydration, and manage IV and port access
- Monitor patient status during Radiation Therapy sessions; recognize and respond to changes in condition; communicate with the Radiation Oncology team
- Document care in the electronic charting system (EPIC); ensure accuracy and timeliness of entries
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response, unit secretary) to coordinate care and patient safety
- Educate patients and families on procedures, expected effects, and post-treatment care; participate in rounding and care conferences
- Float within the hospital as needed within scope of practice and unit competencies
Requirements
- NY RN license (active at time of submission)
- BLS certification
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience; Radiation Oncology nursing experience required
- IV and port access experience required
- Previous charge experience preferred; travel experience preferred but not required
- Radiotherapy care experience and ability to support adults and geriatrics
- Charting system: EPIC required; HealthStream modules required (non-billable) with completion by deadline
- Education: Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in NY
- Floating: candidates will float within the hospital as needed within their skill set
- Residency restrictions: local address restrictions apply; permanent address within 50-mile radius of Saratoga Springs is not accepted
- Excluded counties: Warren, Washington, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Albany, Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, Ulster
- Vaccines: flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required per account manager; medical/religious exemptions must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to start for approval
