Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy assistant support under the supervision of a licensed PT per the plan of care.
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, range of motion, gait training, and selected modalities as delegated.
- Document patient progress, update charts, and communicate changes to the supervising PT.
- Support patient mobility, transfers, and the safe use of equipment; maintain safety and infection control standards.
- Collaborate with the PT and interdisciplinary team to implement treatment goals and adjust activities as needed.
- Maintain professional demeanor, respect patient confidentiality, and adhere to facility policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Current PTA license in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain licensure in NC.
- Ability to work in a corrections setting and follow a defined plan of care under supervision.
- Experience or willingness to assist with therapeutic exercises, ROM, gait training, and modalities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; reliable documentation and time management.
- Eligibility for a travel assignment and ability to meet the shift schedule as described.
