Responsibilities
- Provide direct occupational therapy interventions to residents under the supervision of an occupational therapist, following the plan of care.
- Conduct and participate in assessments and treatment planning to address functional goals including activities of daily living, fine motor skills, and cognitive/communication goals.
- Implement therapy modalities and activities designed to improve independence and safety in daily tasks.
- Document resident progress, update treatment plans, and communicate changes to the care team.
- Collaborate with the OT team, nursing staff, and families to support discharge planning and ongoing rehabilitation goals.
- Maintain equipment, ensure infection control practices, and uphold safety standards during activities.
Requirements
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in Montana (or equivalent credential valid for practice in Montana).
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- Ability to work in a long-term care setting and participate in a 13-week travel assignment.
- Prior exposure to geriatric or long-term care populations is preferred.
- Proficiency with documentation and communication in a clinical setting; ability to follow the plan of care and work collaboratively with the care team.
