Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across multiple areas, including abdominal, OB/GYN (fetal anatomy survey, 1st–3rd trimesters), vascular/Doppler, pediatric, small parts, and ultrasound-guided procedures (biopsies, paracentesis, thoracentesis, etc.).
- Ensure high-quality imaging, optimize parameters, and document findings for interpretation and reporting.
- Prepare patients, position appropriately, and apply sterile technique as required for interventional studies.
- Maintain accurate patient information and imaging data in the charting system (Epic preferred); ensure timely and compliant documentation.
- Collaborate with radiology colleagues and other care team members; participate in on-call coverage and unit-based scheduling as assigned.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory requirements; complete required pre-start and onboarding modules before assignment start.
Requirements
- Licenses: Valid California license in hand for practice
- Certifications: ARDMS certification required; valid copies for abdominal, OB/GYN (fetal anatomy survey, 1st–3rd trimester), vascular/Doppler, pediatric, small parts; experience with interventional and vascular ultrasound studies
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of ultrasound experience
- References: Two references requiring coverage of at least one year within the last three years
- On-site/work setting: Ability to work in a hospital environment with on-call duties, and to float within the hospital and to nearby affiliate facilities per unit needs
- Compliance: Completion of pre-start modules (approximately 16 hours; more than 20 hours requires PM approval) and other required onboarding steps
- Charting: Epic experience preferred
