Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to CTICU patients, including post-cardiac surgery and those with cardiogenic shock or related CTICU diagnoses
- Monitor hemodynamics, manage vasoactive medications, support ventilated patients, and respond to critical events
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; ensure accurate documentation in EPIC
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement care plans, uphold ICU protocols, and ensure patient safety
- Perform ongoing patient assessments, develop and update care plans, and communicate changes during shift handoffs
- Maintain accurate charting, ensure regulatory compliance, and advocate for timely interventions
Requirements
- 2+ years of cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU) or equivalent critical care experience
- Experience with fresh hearts is REQUIRED
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS REQUIRED
- EPIC experience REQUIRED
- Travel experience REQUIRED
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts
- Travel eligibility for a 75-mile radius assignment (locals may be eligible at a reduced rate)
