Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care for a group of patients during the assigned night shift, assuming accountability for outcomes.
- Prescribe and implement nursing care using the nursing process, aligned with the medical plan of care and incorporating input from patients and significant others.
- Collaborate with physicians and other members of the health care team to coordinate delivery of care across patient ages as assigned by the unit.
- Include teaching, discharge planning, and counseling as part of the overall plan of care for patients and families.
- Delegate appropriate aspects of patient care to other nursing staff based on current clinical competence and scope of practice.
- This position is represented by CNA.
Requirements
- Registered professional nurse (RN) currently licensed to practice in California
- Oncology nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts
- Capable of caring for patients across the lifespan (per unit) as needed
- Willingness to participate in a travel assignment and work in a hospital setting
