Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adult patients on a neuro/med-surg telemetry unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Monitor neurological status, administer medications, manage telemetry readings, and respond to patient changes promptly.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, document accurately in the electronic health record, and adhere to evidence-based practices.
- Assume an expanded role as assigned, which may include charge nurse responsibilities, orientation of new staff, or committee involvement.
- Maintain patient safety and quality outcomes, including adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and escalation of concerns as needed.
- Participate in on-call, weekends, and holidays as required by the unit schedule.
Requirements
- NYS Registered Nurse license (active)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Telemetry experience required
- Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience
- Ability to function effectively in a telemetry-enabled, high-acuity setting
