Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care to ER patients according to established standards, the nursing process, and individualized care plans.
- Conduct triage, assessments, care planning, interventions, and evaluation; administer medications and procedures as ordered.
- Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines and teams.
- Monitor patient status, recognize deteriorations, respond to emergencies, and implement appropriate interventions.
- Document care in the electronic health record; participate in discharge planning and patient education.
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, and ancillary staff to ensure safe, efficient patient flow and transitions of care.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- ER nursing experience or demonstrated competence in an acute care environment
- Ability to work evenings; 12-hour shifts; 36 hours per week
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Travel assignment eligibility and capacity to commit to a 13-week assignment
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
