Responsibilities
- Administer the prescribed course of ionizing radiation by verifying the prescription, diagnosis chart, and patient identity.
- Explain procedures to the patient, communicate during treatment, and support patient understanding and cooperation.
- Deliver daily radiation dose per prescription while observing radiation safety measures for patients and staff.
- Prepare treatment room and equipment, assist with immobilization devices, transfer the patient to the treatment couch, and address patient needs.
- Monitor patients for unusual reactions or signs of complications during treatment and report any concerns to the supervisor and department physician.
- Maintain daily treatment records and patient charts, ensuring accuracy of documentation and appropriate review of charts to support treatment delivery and reporting.

Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in radiologic technology or equivalent; Master’s Degree preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: ARRT in Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T) and Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification (TRT) required.
- Experience: At least two years of recent experience in radiologic technology; EPIC and Cerner experience (backfill requirement) preferred.
- Additional certifications: Current BLS or CPR certification preferred; Fluoroscopy Permit from the state of practice preferred.
- Other: Ability to work in a short-term acute care hospital setting and participate in a 40-hour weekly schedule; must meet state requirements for licensure and credentialing.
