Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Registered Nurse – PCU, travel assignment in Hilo, Hawaii. Start date 07/20/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range $2,142–$2,183 per week. Guaranteed hours: none. Schedule: 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation; no call and no guaranteed hours. This hospital-based Progressive Care Unit includes a 15-bed unit (3-step down ICU and 12 telemetry beds). The RN will provide primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, and documentation, with occasional floating to all acute units in-house as needed.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the Progressive Care Unit and telemetry patients, including assessments, care planning, and timely interventions
- Monitor telemetry continuously, read strips, recognize changes, and escalate to the physician per protocol
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments; document in Meditech; utilize Pyxis for medication administration; assist with BIPAP as needed
- Perform fingerstick blood glucose checks; manage glycemic control and respond to abnormal results
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, provide patient and family education, and participate in discharge planning
- Float to Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER units as needed; uphold patient safety and clinical standards
Requirements
- Active Hawaii Registered Nurse license required by start of assignment (if not currently licensed, must apply upon acceptance)
- Minimum 1 year of hospital acute-care experience within the last 12 months
- Telemetry experience preferred; Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
- ACLS preferred, PALS preferred, NIHSS certification preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute-care setting and to float to other units as needed
