This travel assignment places the RN in an OR/PACU role supporting general surgery procedures in a rural setting with circulating and recovery responsibilities.

- Floating: May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities as needed
Responsibilities
- Circulate during general surgical procedures and assist in the OR to maintain sterile technique and instrument handling
- Manage post-anesthesia care in PACU, including monitoring vitals, pain control, and patient recovery milestones
- Provide endoscopy support as part of the OR/PACU team, including setup, scope handling, and patient monitoring
- Respond to on-call requests on assigned days and provide coverage for weekend 24-hour shifts as scheduled
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory, Pharmacy, Unit Secretary) to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation in the charting system and respond to codes and emergent situations as needed
Requirements
- Licensure: Active California RN license in hand
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in OR, PACU, or surgical nursing; endoscopy experience required
- Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program; ability to work in a hospital OR/PACU setting
- Skills: Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, electrosurgical unit use, and basic post-op care; Epic charting experience preferred
- Other: Willingness to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities; on-call availability 2 days/week including holidays/weekends; willing to work 3 weekend 24-hour on-call shifts per month
- Compliance: Submission requires CA license in hand, 2 references (covering the last year), willingness to work holidays, and adherence to a 50-mile submission radius with only one location in the region
- Pre-start: Completion of required pre-start modules (average ~16 hours; >20 hours requires PM approval); copies of certifications on submission
