Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job
Kealakekua, HI
Contracted
Kona Community Hospital
Mid Level
Step into a transformative journey as a Travel Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, where your expertise becomes a beacon for new families and a catalyst for compassionate, evidence-based care. Starting 03/09/2026, this assignment places you in Kealakekua, Hawaii, a pristine corner of the Aloha State where volcanic cliffs meet turquoise waters and every shift carries the opportunity to witness the miracle of birth in a setting that nourishes the spirit as well as the clinical craft. Imagine delivering high-quality obstetric care while embracing the sunlit rhythm of island life, then expanding your horizons by contributing your skills to diverse patient populations across the United States. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to shape experiences, support families, and grow your professional trajectory in a role that recognizes your critical impact from the first contraction to the first days of parenthood.
Kealakekua invites you to experience a uniquely enriching practice environment, where teamwork with physicians, midwives, anesthesiologists, neonatal teams, and support staff amplifies your ability to provide safe, patient-centered care. Working here means benefiting from a culture that values calm, decisive action during labor and delivery, along with the opportunity to explore the broader spectrum of obstetric care in other U.S. locations through our nationwide network. You’ll enjoy access to the beauty of Hawaii’s landscapes between shifts—palm-fringed beaches, coffee-rich Kona mornings, and vibrant local communities—while never losing sight of your professional aim: delivering excellent outcomes and compassionate support for every mother and baby you serve. The assignment also opens doors to travel across the country, offering rich experiences, cultural exchange, and a broader perspective on obstetric practice that only a travel role can provide.
In this Labor and Delivery RN position, you’ll lead, support, and refine the obstetric care team’s performance every shift. Core responsibilities include assessing labor progression, monitoring fetal well-being, managing labor analgesia and delivery assistance—including routine and high-risk scenarios—while coordinating with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and neonatal staff to ensure seamless, multidisciplinary care. You’ll provide thorough patient education on labor expectations, newborn care, lactation support, and postpartum recovery, while maintaining meticulous documentation and adherence to clinical guidelines. Your growth will be supported through structured opportunities to expand skills in high-risk obstetrics, cesarean delivery preparation, obstetric emergencies, and mentorship of newer nurses and students. The role also invites leadership and precepting opportunities as you demonstrate clinical excellence, professional communication, and a commitment to patient- and family-centered care. Our benefits package reinforces your dedication with a competitive weekly pay range of $2,622–$2,685, a strong housing assistance program to ease relocation and lodging, and clear extension opportunities that recognize and reward ongoing excellence and flexibility. You’ll receive ongoing, comprehensive support, including 24/7 assistance from our dedicated travel team as you move between assignments with confidence and continuity of care.
The company behind this opportunity is grounded in values that empower healthcare professionals to grow, innovate, and lead with empathy. We’re devoted to creating a pathway for career advancement that respects your experience and accelerates your professional development, whether you’re seeking to deepen expertise in Labor and Delivery or transition into leadership roles within obstetric services. A supportive work environment—not just a slogan but a lived experience—permeates every assignment, with resources, mentorship, and recognition that help you thrive personally and professionally. Our approach centers on you: honoring your dedication, facilitating continued education, and enabling you to deliver the best outcomes while maintaining work-life harmony through thoughtful scheduling and responsive support.
