Responsibilities
- Provide direct pediatric nursing care in a surgical center environment, supporting patients and families across perioperative periods.
- Assess, monitor, and document preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative pediatric patient status; manage pain, vitals, fluids, and IV therapy as ordered.
- Administer medications and anesthesia-related drugs per physician orders; assist with procedures and patient positioning.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and ancillary staff to ensure patient safety, infection control, and timely coordinated care.
- Develop and update individualized care plans; educate families on post-procedure care, discharge instructions, and when to seek follow-up.
- Respond to clinical changes and emergencies in accordance with approved policies; maintain readiness to implement ACLS/PALS and related pediatric standards.

Requirements
- Active RN license to practice in any U.S. state, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory; full and unrestricted.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) at minimum; Complete Pediatric Trauma Care After Resuscitation (P-CAR) within 6 months of hire; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) completed within 6 months of hire.
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Minimum ability to work in a pediatric acute care/surgical center setting and participate in bedside and team-based care.
- Pediatric acute care experience preferred.
