Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic MRI exams using appropriate imaging equipment and coils, following established policies and protocols.
- Screen patients for contraindications, explain procedures, obtain consent when required, and ensure patient safety throughout the exam.
- Position patients, select coils, adjust imaging parameters, and optimize sequences to produce diagnostic-quality images.
- Monitor patients during scans, respond to alarms, address patient comfort and safety, and manage any adverse events.
- Review image quality, perform reject/repeat analysis as needed, and contribute to workflow efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Document procedures and patient data in the designated charting system (Cerner) and participate in radiology quality improvement activities.
Requirements
- Active Georgia licensure to practice radiologic technology with MRI endorsement or certification; ARRT-MR preferred.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Ability to perform MRI procedures in a clinical hospital setting with adherence to MRI safety protocols.
- Availability to work a 3x12-hour shift pattern for a 13-week travel assignment.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced imaging environment.
