Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for patients presenting to the emergency department, including rapid assessment and triage.
- Monitor patient status, interpret vital signs, and respond to clinical changes with appropriate interventions.
- Administer medications, manage IV lines, and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as directed by the team.
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff to coordinate timely, safe patient care and disposition.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately; communicate patient needs and changes to the care team.
- Prioritize patient safety, comfort, and privacy while delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license (state-specific or eligible to practice in Iowa)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ER nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced emergency department environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- High level of clinical nursing competence with sound clinical judgment
