Responsibilities
- Circulate in the operating room, assisting the team with patient positioning, instrument setup, counts, and maintaining sterile technique
- Prepare the OR for procedures, manage instrumentation, and ensure all supplies are available for cases
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other OR staff
- Support a range of specialties common to the OR, including abdominal, thoracic, urology, ENT, plastic, orthopedics, vascular, and OB/GYN procedures
- Participate in after-hours call coverage to staff the OR, including nights, holidays, and weekends as scheduled
- Perform documentation and ensure adherence to safety and infection control protocols
Requirements
- Alaska RN license, active at time of submission
- Minimum 3 years OR experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN, ADN, or Diploma)
- Flu vaccine required
- Start date will be no earlier than five weeks after required fingerprint background processing; no RTO approval for the first 13 weeks
