Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to Med Surg patients, including monitoring, assessments, and care planning.
- Administer medications, manage IVs, wound care, and pain control per physician orders.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team; document care in the electronic health record; implement and adjust care plans.
- Monitor for changes in patient condition, respond appropriately, and escalate to the charge nurse or provider as needed.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort, including fall prevention and timely discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care.
Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Minimum 2 years Med Surg nursing experience
- At least 1 year of travel nursing experience; renewals preferred
- Ability to work 3x12 night shifts; no block scheduling
- Local candidates within 50 miles considered with a bill rate adjustment
- Education: Nursing degree (RN)
