Registered Nurse – NICU | Pennington, New Jersey | Travel - temporary assignment

Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM | Setting: Hospital NICU

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to neonates in a Level III NICU, including monitoring vitals, respiratory support, IV therapy, and medication administration per physician orders.
- Assist with neonatal procedures and specialized care, including coordination of equipment and line management as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of the neonatal team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the Cerner EMR; ensure timely handoffs during shift changes.
- Monitor for early signs of distress, support ventilated or high-risk neonates, and respond to neonatal emergencies following established protocols.
- Support family-centered care by communicating with families, providing education, and offering emotional support as appropriate.
- Adhere to infection control practices, safety protocols, and unit policies; contribute to a positive, child-friendly NICU environment.
Requirements
- Active NJ or compact nursing license required at submission
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience
- Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Ability to work in a Level III NICU setting and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
