Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for IMCU/PCU patients, including neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory diagnoses; perform focused assessments and ongoing monitoring
- Manage complex lines and tubes (e.g., A-lines, chest tubes) and support vented patients with guidance from the respiratory team; utilize specialty equipment such as temp pacers and related devices
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, monitor for adverse effects, and adjust care plans as ordered
- Document findings and interventions in EPIC EMR; communicate changes with the interdisciplinary team; participate in handoffs and patient/family education
- Float to other units as needed per staffing, maintaining clinical competence and patient safety across settings; adhere to unit policies and infection control standards
Requirements
- Active NY Registered Nurse license (NURSYS verification required) with ALL RN licenses
- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certification
- 2+ years of IMCU/PCU experience
- EPIC EMR experience
- RTO requests must be included at submission; ability to work in a high-acuity inpatient setting; locals may be considered with local rates
