OR Tech (Operating Room Technician) – OR Tech specialty
Herrin, Illinois, United States. Start date 05/18/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment in a hospital setting. Weekly pay ranges from $2,051 to $2,129, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. Shift is 4x10 rotating. This travel assignment includes OR support duties in the procedural suite with on-call requirements as described by the unit.

Responsibilities
- Assist in transportation and positioning of patients for procedures
- Prepare the patient and room, open sterile supplies, and set up instruments for procedures
- Perform skin preparation and draping; assist in gowning and gloving
- Pass instruments to the surgeon, assist with maintaining instrument counts and sponge counts
- Assist in applying dressings and handling specimens as needed
- Decontaminate instruments and aid in turnover of the operating room between cases
- Support call requirements and maintain continuous readiness for case coverage
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of an OR technician program (ARC/STSA) or documented on-the-job/military training
- Certifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA or NCCT) or eligible via alternative training pathway; Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Experience: Approximately 6 months of OR tech experience or equivalent on-the-job/military training
- Licenses/Permits: Relevant certification pathways as noted above; ability to work in an operating room environment and respond to call requirements
- Additional: Demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique, instrument handling, and patient positioning
