Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg, traveling assignment in Petoskey, Michigan. Start date: 07/27/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,122–$2,218 per week. Shift: 3×12-hour days (36 hours per week) with every other weekend. Work setting is a hospital environmental unit focused on medical-surgical care, including general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke. The role requires a straight Med/Surg RN with Level II or I trauma experience.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered care to adult medical-surgical patients, following individualized plans of care
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to implement and adjust care plans using the Clinical Practice Model and Caring-Quality approaches
- Conduct thorough assessments, document findings, and update plans of care accordingly
- Administer medications and monitor responses, ensuring patient safety and accurate dosing
- Communicate effectively using SBAR and maintain clear, timely documentation
- Support orientation of new staff and serve as a clinical resource within the unit
Requirements
- Licensure: Current Michigan Registered Nurse license; verification via LARA and Nursys recommended
- Certification: BLS (AHA) required
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of straight Med Surg experience; not float, not SDU/TELE
- Specialty/Setting: Level II or Level I trauma-level experience on a Med Surg unit
- Education: RN (Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred but not required by stated rules)
- Additional: Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity medical-surgical unit and adhere to unit-specific competencies
