Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient group in the ICU according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Assess patients, develop and implement care plans, monitor progress, and modify care as needed.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; delegate tasks within scope of practice.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams; participate in rounds and collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff.
- Administer medications and therapies, monitor for adverse events, and document findings accurately in the medical record.
- Ensure patient safety, infection control, and compliance with clinical standards; communicate effectively with patients and families.
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in California
- ICU nursing experience: 2+ years preferred
- BLS and ACLS certifications required or maintained
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts; 36 hours per week as scheduled
- Education: completed nursing program; BSN preferred
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills; comfortable working in a high-acuity ICU setting
