Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Registered Nurse – PCU in Hilo, Hawaii, starting 08/10/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment in an inpatient acute care setting. Weekly pay ranges from $2,116 to $2,250. Guaranteed hours: 0. Shift: Not specified. This position supports a Progressive Care Unit (15 beds) with 3 Step-Down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds. Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 in PCU and 1:3 for Step-Down ICU. Hawaii RN licensure is required by start of assignment; travelers not currently in possession of an active Hawaii license must apply upon acceptance of offer. You may float to other acute units in-house as needed (Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER). This travel - temporary assignment is with Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Responsibilities
- Provide primary nursing care to PCU and telemetry patients, including assessments, care planning, and ongoing evaluations
- Monitor telemetry, read strips, and perform fingerstick blood glucose as required
- Administer medications using Meditech electronic charting; utilize Pyxis for medication distribution; operate BIPAP as needed
- Coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team, adjust plans based on patient response, and educate patients and families about conditions and discharge expectations
- Document accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record; maintain compliance with charting standards and safety protocols
- Maintain readiness to float to other acute units (Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, ER) as needed to support patient care operations
Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
- Minimum 1 year hospital acute care experience within the last year
- Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
- Certifications: ACLS preferred; PALS preferred; NIHSS certification preferred
- Ability to float to all acute units in-house (Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, ER)
- Must arrive the Thursday before start to complete employee health clearance
