Responsibilities
- Provide direct, professional nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients according to physician orders and facility policy
- Monitor patient conditions, assess vitals, administer medications and treatments, and document findings accurately in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans, including wound care, IV therapy, and mobility support
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, adhere to infection prevention protocols, and respond promptly to clinical changes or emergencies
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning; coordinate with case management for disposition and post-acute care
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in California
- ACLS required
- PALS preferred/optional for first contract; traveler must attain PALS if extending to additional contracts
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work night shift and weekend rotations in a fast-paced unit
