Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside and telemetry-focused nursing care for adult patients, including continuous rhythm monitoring and rapid response to rhythm changes or alarms.
- Administer prescribed cardiac medications and infusions per protocol (e.g., Heparin, Lasix, Cardizem) and participate in initiation/adjustment of Tikosyn/Sotalol as ordered.
- Apply TR Band devices after procedures and monitor for post-procedural complications and appropriate site care.
- Document assessments, interventions, medication administration, and patient education in EPIC per unit standards; ensure accurate charting and handoffs.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other members of the health care team; participate in care planning, rounds, and escalation of patient status when needed.
- Maintain unit safety and quality processes; support float coverage to other acute care units as required by staffing.
Requirements
- Current Kansas RN license.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Telemetry experience: minimum 1 year; 2–5 years preferred.
- Experience with TR Band usage post-procedure and management of cardiac drips (e.g., Heparin, Lasix, Cardizem); familiarity with Tikosyn/Sotalol initiation.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; willingness to float to other acute care units as needed.
- Graduation from an approved nursing program; active licensure in good standing.
