Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) travel assignment in Bakersfield, California. Start date 07/06/2026 for 18 weeks. 40 hours per week on a 10-hour mid shift. Responsibilities
- Provide coordinated perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgery, following established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Prepare and maintain a safe operating room environment, including sterile technique and equipment readiness.
- Monitor patient status pre-, intra-, and post-operatively; support anesthesia team and surgical team throughout procedures.
- Administer medications and manage solutions, labeling, and documentation per protocol.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff in the OR and coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other modalities.
- Use critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to ensure patient safety and quality of care; document accurately in the patient record.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (or eligible per state requirements)
- Perioperative/OR nursing experience
- Ability to work 10-hour shifts in a fast-paced OR environment and travel assignment logistics
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated clinical judgment and adherence to standards of care and patient safety
