Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in the Emergency Department, including initial assessment, ongoing monitoring, and intervention for a wide range of patients across the lifespan
- Administer medications, initiate IV access, run basic labs as ordered, and monitor patient responses; document interventions and outcomes
- Triage effectively, collaborate with ED clinicians, nurses, technicians, and case management to determine disposition and ensure patient safety
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR (EPIC); ensure charting reflects current condition, treatments, and communications with the care team
- Support ED operations during high-acuity events (e.g., stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, respiratory failure) and perform supported procedures as directed
- Floating to other ED areas as needed to meet patient care demands and maintain unit coverage
Requirements
- Active New York registered nurse license with Nursys verification
- 2+ years of Emergency Department nursing experience; pediatrics experience preferred
- Travel experience required; must live at least 75 miles from the assignment facility (locals within 75 miles may qualify for local rate)
- Certifications: American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC are required
- EMR experience required: EPIC
- Driver’s license with address matching demographics; RTO (time off) requests must be included at submission
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment and adapt to floating assignments as needed
