Adventist Health- Clear Lake
Mid Level
Step into a pivotal role as a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, where your clinical expertise and compassionate care help families welcome new life with confidence and joy. This travel-friendly L&D opportunity places you in Clearlake, California, a serene lakeside community framed by Northern California’s scenic beauty. Beginning 03/30/2026, you’ll join a collaborative team that values evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and continuous learning. If you’re drawn to the dynamic pace of obstetric care and crave a setting that supports work–life balance while advancing your expertise, this assignment is crafted for you. And because outstanding nurses travel well, your skills can extend to diverse locations across the United States, enriching your clinical repertoire while expanding your professional network and impact in obstetric care.

Clearlake isn’t just a workplace—it’s a community where natural beauty and outdoor possibilities refresh and sustain you. Clear Lake’s tranquil shores, nearby redwood groves, and expansive parks offer a restorative backdrop after demanding shifts. The climate, access to outdoor recreation, and the opportunity to unwind in a welcoming environment contribute to a sustainable rhythm for travel nursing. For those who value variety, this program provides pathways to work in other California sites and across the country, allowing you to tailor assignments to your preferred mix of hospital size, patient population, and obstetric service models. Whether you’re drawn to urban performance metrics or community hospital dynamics, you’ll experience unique settings that broaden your clinical decision-making and elevate your professional versatility, all while enjoying the beauty and diversity of the state.

In this role, you’ll lead and collaborate across the obstetric care team to guide labor and delivery from admission to postpartum planning. Core responsibilities include monitoring labor progression and fetal well-being, interpreting fetal heart rate tracings, administering and managing analgesia and anesthesia support as appropriate, assisting with deliveries (vaginal, assisted, and cesarean when required), performing accurate assessments of maternal and fetal status, and intervening quickly in emergencies with evidence-based protocols. You’ll provide patient and family education, support lactation goals, and coordinate care with obstetricians, midwives, neonatal teams, and social work to optimize outcomes. The position offers a robust pathway for professional growth: enhanced competencies in high-risk obstetrics, leadership opportunities on unit-based quality improvement initiatives, mentorship programs, ongoing access to simulation training, and support for specialty certifications. You’ll have a clear avenue to expand your clinical influence while maintaining the autonomy and teamwork that define expert L&D practice.

Beyond clinical duties, you’ll enjoy competitive benefits that recognize the value you bring to every birth and every family you touch. The weekly pay ranges from $2,506 to $2,663, reflecting the skills you bring and the intensity of labor and delivery care. The package includes a sign-on bonus, housing assistance to ease relocation and daily living logistics, and extension opportunities that let you prolong the assignment if you choose. You’ll also experience comprehensive support, including 24/7 assistance from our travel nursing program while you’re on assignment, access to travel coordination and onboarding resources, and a network of peers and clinical leaders dedicated to your success. Additional benefits cover health, dental, and vision, retirement planning options, paid time off, and continuing education allowances designed to keep you current with best practices in maternal-newborn care.

The company is built on a core commitment to empower its staff—creating a workplace where your voice matters, your growth is prioritized, and your well-being is a strategic objective. We champion career advancement through structured pathways, leadership exposure, and mentors who guide you toward your professional goals. A supportive, inclusive environment ensures you feel valued as a skilled clinician and a key member of the care team, with resources and colleagues who help you thrive in every assignment you undertake.
