Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy evaluation and treatment for adults and geriatrics in acute care, with emphasis on post-operative ortho/spine/neuro care.
- Conduct mobility work, transfers (including Hoyer), gait training, and assistive-device training; support discharge planning and patient/family education.
- Manage respiratory basics (oxygen therapy) and cardiac/pulmonary considerations (e.g., CHF, COPD) as part of the PT plan.
- Support neuro rehab needs (post-stroke, vestibular) and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Document care in the charting system (EPIC) and participate in rounding with the broader care team; coordinate with interpretation services, social services, and unit secretary as needed.
- May float to different units based on patient census and unit needs while maintaining high-quality PT care. Population served: Adults and geriatrics; common diagnoses include joint replacement, spine/neurosurgery, GI/vascular surgery, amputations, stroke, dementia, CHF, COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, and related conditions.

Requirements
- NY license required in hand to submit
- BLS certification
- EPIC charting experience required
- Minimum 1 year RN experience
- Comfortable with patient-ratio expectations around 1:14
- First-time travelers accepted; local candidates not eligible (must be >75 miles from facility)
