Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel) opportunity in Mattoon, Illinois, United States. Start date: 05/04/2026 for an 8-week travel assignment. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care for Medical-Surgical patients.
- Provide clinical leadership to the patient care team during the assigned shift.
- Monitor patient conditions, administer medications and treatments per physician orders, and respond to changes in patient status.
- Collaborate with physicians, ancillary staff, and the care team to coordinate care and ensure patient safety.
- Document care activities accurately in the patient record and communicate changes during shift handoffs.
- Support discharge planning and patient education to optimize outcomes and care transitions.
Requirements
- Current Illinois RN license (Nursys verification required); active Illinois license is mandatory.
- ACLS (AHA) required within 30 days of start.
- BLS (AHA) current and active.
- Minimum 3 years of Med Surg experience (Telemetry preferred).
- Permanent address outside a 50-mile radius of the assignment (non-local candidate required).
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and participate in an every-other-weekend schedule.
- Education: Registered Nurse (RN) credential required; relevant Med Surg/Telemetry experience documented.
