Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to mixed adult and pediatric ED patients, including triage, assessment, and ongoing monitoring.
- Administer medications, IV vasopressors, blood products, and manage IV starts; perform procedural sedation as indicated.
- Interpret dysrhythmias, manage isolation precautions, and support stroke care (CVA) protocols.
- Lead or participate in emergency procedures and interprofessional care with IV team, RT, PT, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response, Transport, Unit Secretary, and interpretation services.
- Utilize EPIC for charting; document assessments, interventions, and care plans with accurate coding and timing.
- Apply central line care, phlebotomy, and other core ED skills; respond to rapid changes in patient status and coordinate transfers as needed.
- Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements
- Active New York RN license in hand (submission requires license in-hand)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
- Minimum experience: 1 year in an ED or equivalent fast-paced setting
- EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
- First-time travelers accepted; travel experience not required
- Local candidates: Not accepted within 75 miles of the assignment location
- Pending licenses: Not accepted
- RTO: Minimal preferred; cannot submit candidates with >10 days
- Weekend commitment: Every other weekend
- Float: Floats to other ED areas as census warrants
- Unit context: Emergency Department (combined adult & pediatric); common diagnoses span all ED presentations
- Age range: Neonates through geriatrics
- Orientation: 16 hours
- COVID-19 vaccine: Not required
- Return-to-staff policy: 1 year
- Charting system: EPIC (hard requirement)
