Physical Therapy Assistant – Specialty: Physical Therapy Assistant. Location: Waldorf, Maryland, United States. Start date: 05/11/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,523–$1,654 per week. Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed PT, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, ROM, strengthening, and functional activities.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjust treatment plans under PT guidance, and communicate changes to the care team.
- Support discharge planning and patient/guardian education with safe transfer and mobility strategies.
- Instruct residents and caregivers on home exercise programs and activity options to promote independence.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, schedule coordination, and participate in care conferences as needed.
Requirements
- Active or eligible Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in Maryland (as applicable).
- Experience delivering PTA services, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting.
- Ability to work 35 hours per week during the 13-week assignment; eligible for 5x8 schedule.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
- Comfort working in a rehabilitation-focused environment with multidisciplinary staff.
