Operating Room Technician (OR Tech) – OR Tech
Location: Plattsburgh, NY, United States
Start date: May 18, 2026
Duration: 13–16 weeks
Weekly pay: $2,142–$2,208 per week
Shift: 4x10-hour days
Setting: Hospital (travel - temporary assignment)

- On-call and weekend coverage: limited; up to 1 call per week and up to 1 weekend day per 4-week cycle
Responsibilities
- Circulate in the operating room as required; scrub experience is preferred
- Prepare rooms, assist with instrument handling, maintain sterile technique, and perform instrument counts
- Start IVs and assist with patient transports when central transport is unavailable
- Document procedures and patient data in the EPIC system; assist with supply and equipment management
- Float to ASC or other assigned units as needed; support cases across ortho, robotics, general surgery, ENT, plastics, and neuro
- Support anesthesia and OR team, help with room turnover, and adhere to unit protocols and safety standards
Requirements
- Active New York licensure as an OR Tech/Surgical Technologist
- NBSTSA certification required or equivalency (Champlain equivalency noted)
- BLS certification required
- Vascular skills are a must
- Approximately 2 years of clinical OR experience; ~2 years in specialty roles preferred
- Prior travel assignment experience preferred
- Ability to float to ASC as needed and work within the OR rotation; weekend/on-call shifts as described
