Responsibilities
- Conduct utilization management activities including chart review for medical necessity and appropriateness of services.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure appropriate levels of care and timely discharge planning.
- Apply utilization review guidelines and payer policies to determine authorization requirements and coverage.
- Document decisions and clinical rationale clearly in patient records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Provide on-call coverage as required and communicate care plans with physicians and families.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Experience in utilization management, case management, or care coordination preferred.
- Knowledge of medical necessity criteria, payer guidelines, and authorization processes.
- Strong documentation and communication skills; ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- Ability to work effectively in a skilled nursing setting and manage on-call duties.
