Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adults and geriatrics on a 20-bed MS/Tele unit.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret telemetry, and manage dysrhythmias; respond to rhythm changes as needed.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, oxygen delivery, and implement isolation precautions per protocol.
- Document in EPIC; participate in interdisciplinary rounds and coordinate with team members (PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Social Work) as needed.
- Perform phlebotomy and IV insertion/maintenance; assist with stroke care and NIHSS assessment when indicated.
- Maintain patient safety, implement care plans, and assist with discharge planning as appropriate. May float within scope to MS, ICU, and ED as staffing requires.
Requirements
- Active New York RN license in hand for submission
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year RN experience (Med-Surg or Telemetry strongly preferred)
- EPIC charting experience required
- Ability to float within scope to MS, ICU, ED
- Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management; NIHSS stroke assessment; phlebotomy and IV insertion/maintenance
