Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the emergency department using the nursing process for an assigned patient population
- monitor and assess patients, interpret findings, and respond to clinical changes promptly
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered; ensure safe and accurate administration
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, technicians, and other care team members to coordinate patient care
- Develop and implement care plans; participate in discharge planning and patient/family education
- Maintain documentation in the medical record, uphold patient safety and infection control standards
Requirements
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California)
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Certifications: CPR/BLS required; Basic Life Support (BLS) required by facility policy; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required; NIH Stroke Scale required
- Experience: At least two years of recent experience in ER or acute care
- Other: Ability to work night shifts in a hospital setting; comply with vaccination requirements per policy
