Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to residents in a long-term care setting under supervision of a registered nurse or physician
- Monitor and document vital signs, administer prescribed medications and treatments, and assist with routine nursing procedures
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility support, and orient residents to daily routines
- Observe for changes in condition, communicate observations to the supervising RN, and escalate concerns promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation in resident records and ensure compliance with facility policies and infection control protocols
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support resident care plans and quality of life goals
Requirements
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in New Mexico
- Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, resident-centered environment
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and meet the demands of a long-term care assignment
- Local candidate preferred due to the local assignment requirement
