As a travel RN in Labor and Delivery, you will provide expert obstetric nursing care in a short-term acute care setting. This assignment requires on-unit training, virtual orientation, and a 13-week contract with a flexible on-call schedule. Expect the potential to float to medical-surgical units as needed and to care for pediatric patients during float periods. The position is a temporary travel role supported by Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

- Floating: May float to MS for overflow patients and provide pediatric care when needed
- Certifications: EPIC experience preferred; fetal monitoring class (intermediate/advanced) within past 24 months required; commitment to obtain PALS prior to start
- Assignment validity: Through 01/10/2027
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to obstetric patients in the L&D unit, including active fetal monitoring and maternal status assessments
- Administer medications, manage labor progression, assist with deliveries and cesarean births, and support newborn care as appropriate
- Monitor fetal and maternal well-being, respond to obstetric emergencies, and collaborate with anesthesia, NICU, and OB teams to ensure patient safety
- Document care in the electronic health record (EPIC) and maintain accurate, timely charting; adhere to infection control and safety protocols
- Float to medical-surgical units as needed for overflow and provide pediatric care guidance during pediatric-related patient needs
- Participate in on-call shifts per month and support patient care continuity during off-hours
Requirements
- Active RN license in Kansas
- Minimum 2 years of LDR experience; 3+ years preferred
- Willingness to float to MS and provide pediatric care when required
- Must have taken a fetal monitoring class (intermediate or advanced) within the past 24 months
- AM and/or AM-level BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP required; must be fully committed to obtaining PALS prior to start
- EPIC experience highly preferred
- No new graduates accepted
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, weekend rotations, and on-call schedule as outlined
