Responsibilities
- Provide triage, initial assessment, and stabilization for trauma and emergency patients in an ER-focused setting.
- Administer medications, manage IV access, monitor vital signs, and respond to acute changes in patient condition.
- Document care and outcomes clearly in the medical record; communicate with the care team and during handoffs.
- Perform ongoing patient assessment, support pain control, and implement discharge planning or transfer coordination as appropriate.
- Comply with established protocols for moderate sedation and related clinical standards; participate in trauma and emergency care processes as indicated.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, compassionate, and timely patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (or eligible for CA practice per state requirements)
- NCI certification required
- Moderate Sedation Training required
- ER/trauma or acute care experience preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and adapt to a high-acuity, fast-paced setting
- Must meet professional and regulatory requirements for a travel ER assignment in a hospice-oriented home healthcare environment
