Travel Registered Nurse OR Job
Registered Nurse, OR (Surgical) – Fortuna, CA. Start date: 10/05/2026. Duration: Weeks. Weekly pay: $2,976–$3,115 per week. Shift: 5x8 Days. Employment Type: Travel - Temporary Assignment. Setting: rural, surgical care unit performing OR circulation and PACU/recovery duties with endoscopy experience required. Patient ages include adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Unit comprises 3 rooms with collaboration across Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary. Orientation: 40 hours.

- On-call: 2 days per week (includes holidays and weekends)
- Weekend commitment: 3 x 24-hour on-call shifts per month
- Holiday requirement: Work 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Orientation: 40 hours provided
- Setting: rural surgical care with both OR circulation and PACU/recovery responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Circulating in the OR and providing PACU/recovery care for a range of general surgical cases
- Manage perioperative responsibilities for procedures including laparoscopic/open general surgery, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, tonsil/adenoid, total joint replacement, VATS, and pediatric general surgery
- Endoscopy experience required; support endoscopic procedures (EGD/colonoscopy) and immediate post-procedure recovery
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, including cardiac monitoring, respond to perioperative codes, and implement safety protocols
- Maintain sterile technique, prepare and stock rooms, and coordinate with anesthesia, circulating team, and support services
- Communicate with the healthcare team and participate in handoffs to ensure continuity of care
Requirements
- Active RN license in California; compact state license in hand at time of submission
- Endoscopy experience required; OR circulating and PACU/recovery experience
- Minimum 1 year of relevant OR/PACU experience
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Ability to work in a rural, multi-age patient population (Adolescents, Pediatrics, Adults, Geriatrics)
- Two professional references covering the last year within the past three years
- Willingness to float to nearby sister facilities if required; on-call and holiday commitments as described
