Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for inmates within the correctional health care setting.
- Manage PICC line care per protocol, including dressing changes and monitoring for complications.
- Perform phlebotomy and blood draws, and collect specimens as requested.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient responses, and document in the medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, other nursing staff, and custodial/triage teams while following security and safety procedures; be prepared to float to another facility if needed and to work every other weekend.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in good standing (state to be verified as applicable for the assignment).
- Experience completing nursing assessments; phlebotomy/blood draw competence required.
- Ability to perform PICC-related duties and manage IV therapy per protocol.
- Willingness to float to another facility if needed; ability to work every other weekend.
- Availability to start at 3:00 pm and stay until 11:30 pm on scheduled days; ability to work within a correctional health care environment and adhere to security protocols.
