Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Travel) in Portales, New Mexico. Start date 08/17/2026 for a 13-week assignment with weekly pay of $1,920–$2,029 and guaranteed 36 hours per week. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and ongoing reassessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Develop, revise, and evaluate daily care plans based on patient response to treatment; adjust as needed.
- Educate patients and families on pain management and other aspects of care; assess learning needs and measure effectiveness.
- Perform nursing procedures and treatments within licensure; assist physicians with procedures and operate equipment safely.
- Communicate clearly with the Nurse Manager, physicians, and interdisciplinary team; coordinate care and involve family in planning; support discharge planning with social services when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate documentation, ensure patient confidentiality, and address psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs as part of holistic care.
Requirements
- Active RN license in New Mexico (or eligibility to obtain)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Graduate of an approved nursing program with RN licensure
- Ability to perform head-to-toe assessments and care planning across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
- Med Surg experience preferred; able to work the 6:00 pm–6:00 am night shift (3x12)
