Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for general medical and surgical patients on a 10-bed unit with a 5:1 patient ratio
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor patient status and respond to changes promptly
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges; communicate with the care team to coordinate ongoing patient needs
- Perform ongoing assessments, document findings, and maintain accurate records in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and ancillary staff to ensure safe, effective, evidence-based care
- Maintain infection control practices, patient safety, and adherence to unit policies in a fast-turnover environment
Requirements
- Active RN license with Nursys verification; in good standing
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of Med‑Surg nursing experience
- Ability to work night shift and participate in a 2x3 schedule on a travel assignment
- Willingness to meet mandatory holiday coverage requirements (Thanksgiving or day after; Christmas Eve/Day or New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Resume with no gaps greater than 60 days; skills checklist; references; certification card
