Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive ultrasound exams across multiple modalities with competency in abdomen (Aorta, IVC, liver/biliary, pancreas, spleen, kidneys with pathology and normal studies), gynecologic imaging (breast, ovaries, adnexa, uterus, pelvis; including normal and pathologic findings, post-menopausal, transvaginal, adult and pediatric), and obstetric imaging (first through third trimester, amniocentesis, complications, biophysical profile, gestational age, placental grading, abnormalities, IGUR; assess uterus/adnexa). Include procedures such as aspirations, biopsies, drainage, and intraoperative imaging as required.
- Acquire neonatal imaging focused on congenital anomalies and neonatal head, as well as assessment of superficial structures (abdominal wall, breast, focal masses, hematoma, scrotum/testes, thyroid) and vascular studies (carotid duplex, segmental pressures, upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex).
- Operate and optimize imaging equipment (Canon i700) and document in the Meditech EMR with Fuji Synapse PACS for image storage and access.
- Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality studies; communicate preliminary findings per protocol and ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Maintain professional standards, dress according to policy (personal scrubs, healthcare professional attire), and be prepared to float to other units/departments as needed; participate in rotating schedules and on-call as required.
- Onboarding: Arrive the Thursday before start date to complete employee health requirements and related onboarding steps.
Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: ARDMS certification in Abdominal (AB), Obstetric (OB), and Vascular (RVT) required; Active BLS (American Heart Association) required.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years’ sonography experience in an acute hospital setting; must be full-time experience; one contract or more preferred.
- Education: Education details not specified in notes; typically requires completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
- Competencies: Proficient in abdomen, gyn, OB, neonatal, superficial structures, and vascular ultrasound; able to work in a hospital setting with floating responsibilities; strong communication and teamwork skills.
