Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for PCU patients, including ongoing assessment, monitoring of vitals, and response to changes in condition
- Administer medications, start and manage IV therapies, and oversee telemetry and oxygen delivery as ordered
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and adjust patient care plans
- Perform accurate documentation in electronic medical records and ensure timely communication with physicians and other clinicians
- Maintain patient safety, infection control practices, and patient and family education
- Demonstrate clinical judgment in a fast-paced, higher-acuity step-down/intermediate care setting
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia (or eligible per state requirements)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in PCU, step-down, or intermediate care
- Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIH Certification
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; Northside holiday expectations require work on 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day) and 1 minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve)
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills; comfortable in a high-acuity, patient-centered environment
