Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care for adult Med/Surg Tele patients, with ED Hold coverage and float duties as needed
- Administer medications and IV therapies, monitor patient status, respond to clinical changes, and escalate to the physician when appropriate
- Perform unit-specific procedures (IV starts, bladder scans, blood draws off central lines, point-of-care glucose monitoring)
- Document accurately in EPIC, ensuring timely and complete charting and interdisciplinary communication
- Collaborate with CNAs/PCTs, unit clerks, and the care team to ensure safe, efficient patient care and adherence to unit staffing ratios
Requirements
- Active RN license in New York state
- BLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification/testing required prior to starting
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience; 1 year in Med/Surg Tele or related specialty
- Education: RN with a degree in nursing (ADN or BSN)
