Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Registered Nurse – PCU (Neuro/Stepdown) | Atlanta, GA, US
This travel assignment for an RN with neuro/PCU expertise begins June 15, 2026. It is an 8-week engagement with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shift is night, 12-hour shifts on a 2x3 schedule in a hospital setting. EPIC experience is required, and NIHSS documentation must be included in your CV packet to be considered.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult medical-surgical/neuro-ward patients on the PCU/Neuro stepdown level
- Monitor neurological status and administer therapeutic interventions per physician orders
- Conduct NIHSS assessments and promptly report changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and monitor for adverse effects
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other disciplines to implement and adjust care plans
- Document nursing care and patient responses accurately in the EPIC electronic health record
- Respond to clinical emergencies and participate in code/rapid response procedures as needed
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license; eligibility in the state of Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty (neuro/PCU/stepdown); neuro stepdown experience preferred
- NIHSS documentation included in CV packet; NIHSS in CV packet required to be considered
- EPIC EMR experience and proficient computer skills
- ACLS certification preferred; strong med/surg background with NIHSS, ACLS, and some step-down experience may be considered
- Shift availability for night, 12-hour shifts; no block scheduling and weekends not required
- Ability to work in a hospital setting on a travel assignment
