Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the operating room during surgical procedures
- Monitor patient status, vitals, and anesthesia-related changes; communicate with the anesthesia team and surgical staff
- Maintain sterile technique, assist with instrumentation, and ensure proper room setup and safety
- Assist with patient positioning, transfers, and efficient room turnover; document perioperative information
- May assume duties as a charge nurse or preceptor for other OR staff as needed
- Be available for on-call coverage with a 30-minute response time
Requirements
- NYS RN license in hand
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- BLS required; ACLS preferred; MEDITECH experience
- Minimum 2 years OR RN experience
- Education aligned with a professional nursing program; ability to work in a high-stress OR setting
- 100-mile radius rule adherence; available for 12-hour night shifts including weekends and holidays
